Miley Cyrus Remembers “Flirting” With Ariana Grande Years Ago

Miley Cyrus has been promoting her new single “Used to Be Young” by reminiscing over old memories on TikTok. In her latest video, the Disney alum admits once “flirting” with Ariana Grande. In 2015, Miley Cyrus and Ariana Grande got together to record a cover of the Crowded House’s “Don’t Dream It’s Over.” Cyrus said she tried to shoot her shot with Grande during the performance, but she joked she may have accidentally “scared” the Wicked star instead.

Miley Cyrus and Ariana Grande Get Nostalgic Over Friendship

The Hannah Montana actress recalled “flirting” with Ariana Grande while recording their duet in 2015. “This is as serious as it can be, me and Ariana Grande performing in onesies in the backyard,” Cyrus said while playing their performance on a tablet. “I was flirting with her, and she was a little scared.” In the video, Miley Cyrus and Ariana Grande wore cute animal onesies while performing “Don’t Dream It’s Over” with a live band. At one point, Cyrus complimented Grande, which caused her to become flustered. Since they got distracted, the pair accidentally missed one of their cues. “Sorry, I was flirting!” Cyrus said in the old clip.

Cyrus continued to rave about Grande on TikTok by calling her a “real friend” who’s always been there for her:

“There’s never been a time where I’ve asked her to do something that was important to me that she didn’t come through, and same thing for me with her.”

As if that wasn’t cute enough, Grande saw Cyrus’ video and had the nicest thing to say about her, too. “My sweet,” Grande wrote on her Instagram Story. “Love you always @mileycyrus.” Grande also plugged Cyrus’ new single by writing, “We #usedtobeyoung!!!!”

Cyrus dropped “Used to Be Young” on Friday, Aug. 25. It debuted on the Billboard Hot 100 at No. 8. Earlier this year, Cyrus topped the chart with her single “Flowers,” which debuted at No. 1 following its release in January.
